Mares

Here at Rocking M Farm we are trying to do something a little different. In this area of Virginia there are quite a few thoroughbreds and warmbloods and quite a few quarter horses and welsh ponies. So rather than compete with established breeders, we are hoping to base our success on producing quality quarter-horse crosses. Some of these foals will be registered appendix quarter horses and with this in mind we have acquired some exceptionally nice thoroughbred mares. We also are aware that many people like color. So we will also try to produce at least one foal a year that can be registered with the APHA. And then there are the unusual colors like buckskins and duns, grullos and blacks. We are hoping to have those colorful foals to offer for sale as well. And we won't even overlook having an occasional American Quarter Pony. These smaller versions of the refined quarter horse make wonderful sport ponies for children and smaller adults. Look at our lovely broodmares to see what we are basing our hopes on and to see why we are so optimistic about our future success.
